Sick & Mind

It was when this semester was started . I absented few days at school because of sick. At that time I was very disappointed myself due to the my class level. I thought that I was under the stress because I got lower level classes than I expected. I was very ashamed for what I did until now about studying English. I already got a admission for a college at the same time, so I worried about facing lots of language barrier in the college. As that kind of complex situation, my body and sprit were very exhausted. I was sure I got a very serious cold due to that. After that, I accepted my real English level at the moment and I changed my mind positively. Then, suddenly, I could recover my cold. During this experience, I could know stress could bring sick; However, stress depends on the state on the mind. Now?!, I love my class ever and I have learned lots of things.

The Movie Theater in Calgary

I love to watch movies that is one of my hobbies. When I live in Seoul, I often go to movie theater for watching movie. That is not only for movie but also for my relax. During movie time, I could escape from my work's stress. Therefore, movie theater's environment was very important to me.
There are different grade movie theaters with rates in Seoul, so I usually took a very comfortable place even though price was little bit expensive. I could eat before movie started and take a beverage service from there during movie time. However, When I went a movie theater in Calgary I was little bit surprised because there was no seat no. that I could choose. So I had to enter there more earlier than movie time if I wanted to seat where I wanted to watch. Also, some people put their feet in front of the seat. It was very uncomfortable and sometimes I was very nervous. As people can be adapted all of the place, I can enjoy to watch a movie here per every week.

The Secret Garden

When I was a child, my father usually read books for me such as bed time tale. I still remember that my mom signed him then he took a book and went my room with me at night time. He really enjoyed to read books for me before I sleep. One of great book was "The Secret Garden". Actually, I read the book over 5 times. It was very strange that I felt very different whenever I read it. However, I was always taught from it that family was very important. I don't remember the story's main character name, but I remember the heartwarming ending that he is able to walk. His father is smiling again, and she gets a new family and friends who love her. What a fantastic ending! I still love happy ending and everybody can happy.^^

Public Transit in Seoul

Actually, I don't know very well about Korea public transit system because I have been driving my own car since when I was a university student. However, I have heard that Seoul's public transit is very nice and convenient. One of my foreign friends said Seoul has one of the best public transportation systems in the world. We have the T-money card that keeps money in and is used when we take a bus or subway. Look at the bus first. We have blue, green, red and yellow buses. There are different functions and rates with each color. Also I loved our subway with 11 lines. The subway system extends all throughout the city, as well as into Incheon, Gyeonggi-do and northern Chungcheongnam-do. It is very convenient even thought sometimes I lost the road with complex lines. I think Calgary's public transit is very simple, inconvenient and low-technical system compare to Seoul's. Suddenly, I miss the Seoul's life whatever I can enjoy.

The Red Devil

What do you think when you imagine about the World Cup? In my case, I think up the Red Devil. The Red Davil is the official supporting group of the Korean national soccer team. Red is the color of the Korean national soccer team's uniform. Another meaning of Devil is a passionate person. One of the legacies of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup was red that became the national symbol of unity and triumph. During the 2002 World Cup, most people became Red Devil. Every street was red whether there was a game or not. Do you know a slogan of the Red Devil? It is 'Dae Han Min Kok'.'Dae Han Min Kok' is the offical name of Korea in Korean. All Koreans know this slogan, from children to old men. It was very exciting. Even though the 2002 World Cup was 7 years ago, I couldn't forget that kind of passion because of the world cup.

Safe City, Calgary

I think Calgary is safer than Seoul, which is my hometown. Seoul is very busy city among the largest cities in Asia, so there is a very strong competition. That's why people don't have a time to give consideration to each other pretty much. As the result it, people are changed more selfish. We have a very sad joke. If you meet a very dangerous thing, you just should shout out "Fire" instead of "Help me!" because most people just only care their property. However, even thought I haven't lived here for a long time, I'm sure Calgary is not that kind of city. Without question, every area which people live has some risks, but there are quite different strength. When I read a newspaper, I can find few of pieces crime news which happen everyday in Calgary. Nevertheless, It is not serious crime, and it could happen anywhere.

The full harvest moon festival

Actually, I don't know completely our holiday during the spring/summer in Korea. I only remember our independent day on 1st of the March but I think it's not interesting day to me. There is not great celebration, so I would like to introduce my favorite holiday which is the full harvest moon festival. The festival is on the 15th day in August as a lunar calender. it is very similar to the Canada thanksgiving holiday. We get three days off, so sometimes the days continue past the weekend. We could spend five days off. Usually, my family visits our home town to meet father's parents and relatives. At that time, the highway is jammed because this festival is the most important of all Korean holidays. During this holidays, we pay respect to our living relatives and visit the graves of my ancestors to thank taking care of our harvest. When I was a child, I was really excited to go to meet father's relatives in spite of traffic jam because they gave me great gifts or small cash for good memories at home town. However, now I realize why this holiday is important to Korean because this holiday is not only with a family get-together, but also give thanks for their blessing.

"My father wrote about this in his book. Chapter 1... Page 1... Paragraph 1: What is the answer to 99 out of 100 questions?... Money."

If I won $10 million dollars in the lottery, I would do or buy lots of things; However,I think I have to do it first. That is I would build my own company for charity. I really want to help children who suffer from hunger, poverty, civil war and other problems. I am very interested in children's problem because they can't choose any condition for them such as country, family, wealthy and even sex. That's why I want to help their problem. I am sure that even if I gave a very small amount of money to them, their lives could be changed dramatically. They can be had a dream. It is very important. My mom always told me that small charity can be made different in the world. I saw that he, who my mom helps to study, came to my house to say thanks her. She was very happy because he will go to very famous university in the U.S. What a great thing! I believe that money is very important in our life. I mean money is not equally same as spirit satisfied with life but it has to need to reach my dream. Although I don't prey to win the lottery, if it would happen to my real life, I can end up at my goal very quickly. Thank you God !!!

First day for my blog^^

I have created my new blog since today. It is ONLY ENGLISH ZONE. Wow!!!
I don't know what I'll do for my great blog, but I'll try to write about my Calgary life and my emotion during this semester. I hope that I can enjoy this semester with my classmates and improve my English skill. My goal is to fully understand applied grammar to use when I speaking and can write very naturally or perfectly. I know it is very high objective, however, I am trying it during this semester. I'm sure Jeff can help me to reach my goal. Right Jeff?^^
